HT is looking for Bioimage Computing and AI Experts with a keen interest in method research and analysis pipeline development.
The Jug Lab is a creative and interdisciplinary research team, located at the Human Technopole (HT) in Milan, Italy.
Research in the Jug Lab is positioned in the intersection of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Bioimage Computing, tackling applications such as image restoration, instance segmentation, and object tracking on light and electron microscopy data. Next to these established research directions, we are very interested to embark in new challenges, eg. on the analysis of sequence data or on multi-omics data resources to be created and curated in other research centers at HT. The position(s) to be filled will be tightly collaborating with HT’s image analysis facility, ensuring that the developed methods find direct application in ongoing biomedical research projects.
We seek an open-minded and motivated personality to conduct top-notch research work. Successful applicants will become a valuable member of our tightly knit team of researchers, research software engineers, and bioimage analysts. Your work will help us to further the analytic possibilities of bleeding-edge biomedical research projects and influence the work of many labs at HT, in Italy, and all around the world. Job requirements
- A PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Biology, or a related area.
- Publication record that attests conduction of research in computer vision, and/or machine learning, and/or computational bioimage analysis.
- Good programming skills are very helpful, ideally with programming languages such as Java, Python and/or C/C++.
- Familiarity with engineering tools such as git, Github, Jenkins or Travis, automated test suits, etc. is a plus.
- Proficiency with at least one established analysis software (eg.Fiji, ilastik, Cell Profiler, Napari, Imaris, Arivis, or a similar tool) is also highly desirable.
