This course will provide comprehensive training on conducting differential analysis of high-throughput quantitative proteomics data using R. Starting with an introduction to the widely-used statistical programming language, no prior experience with R is necessary.
Participants will gain an understanding of the statistical concepts behind the methods used, enabling them to critically evaluate both their own workflows and those found in published studies. Key topics covered will include:
• Statistical inference: hypotheses and Type I and II errors
• t-test and ANOVA
• Multiple testing adjustments
• Volcano plot
Learning goals:
• Learning about basic R functions including
- data import and export
- statistical tests
- basic visualization
• Deeper understanding of statistical methods applied in differential analyses
Prerequisites:
Basic understanding of high-dimensional data sets from quantitative proteomics or other omics
• No prior knowledge on R required
• Computer with stable internet connection, headset and camera
Keywords:
R; high-throughput data; omics; proteomics; statistical analysis
Tools:
Download and more information on R here:

We recommend using an editor such as RStudio, see
https://posit.co/products/open-source/rstudio/
R/RStudio need to be installed before the start of the course.
