The HUPO-PSI Spring Meeting is an annual event organized by the HUPO Proteomics Standards Initiative, aiming to advance data standardization efforts. This meeting is this year supported by de.NBI / ELIXIR-DE brings together scientists from various areas of proteomics to collaborate on the development of standardized data formats, which are crucial for the field’s continued growth.

The 2025 edition will focus on overcoming key barriers that limit large-scale reuse and AI applications of proteomics data to accomplish this the PSI is working with de.NBI / ELIXIR-DE and the ELIXIR network, both of which play pivotal roles in supporting bioinformatics and proteomics communities in Europe. Using the tools, databases, and computational infrastructure provided by de.NBI / ELIXIR-DE serve as a critical foundation for advancing standardized data formats and facilitating large-scale data reuse we aim to overcome these barriers, including challenges such as metadata availability and the standardization of quantification outputs. The event aims to bring together researchers from across the field to collaboratively address these issues. While we welcome participants from all career stages, we particularly encourage early-career researchers to attend, as their involvement is critical in shaping the future of proteomics.

The event kicks off with a two-day hands-on workshop aimed at identifying and addressing these barriers, followed by two days of PSI sessions. Throughout the four days, keynote speakers will share insights and propose actionable solutions, while attendees are encouraged to present their research during a poster session and engage with peers in the field.
