The Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB) is located on the Weinberg campus of the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany.

The BMBF funded  network of German Bioinformatics Infrastructures (de.NBI) supports users and developers in Biology and Bioinformatics using and integrating modern bioinformatics solutions. The IPB is part of the Center for Integrative Bioinformatics (CIBI) and provides support on methods for metabolite identification, development of the MassBank spectra repository and standards-compliant data publishing in Metabolomics.

The Bioinformatics and Scientific Data research group at the IPB is seeking applications as

Researcher (PostDoc Bioinformatics / Metabolomics) (m/f/d)
The position is available immediately and limited until 31.12.2021

Job description:
As a bioinformatician, you will be joining our research group Bioinformatics and Scientific Data. The focus of the position will be to strengthen our infrastructure to support the experimental metabolomics community with efficient computational metabolomics services. The successful candidate will engage with users, provide support with metabolite annotation tools (MassBank, MetFrag) and standards-compliant data sharing.

You should hold a PhD in bioinformatics or computer science, with experience in algorithm and software engineering and statistics. You are able to program in the statistics framework R, and have worked in Java or C/C++. Knowledge in metabolomics or Grid-/Cloud computing would be an advantage. The position is limited until 31.12.2021 and available immediately.

Salary and social benefits are according to the German Public Service regulation (TV-L).
