It is with deep sadness and profound regret that we bid farewell to our esteemed colleague, advisor, and friend, Prof. Dr. Reinhard Schneider, who passed away last week.
He was a vital part of the de.NBI network from its very inception in 2015, serving as a dedicated member of our Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). Over the years, he provided invaluable guidance, strategic vision, and scientific leadership to our network, including serving as the Chair of the SAB.
Through his unwavering commitment, he played a crucial role in shaping the direction and success of de.NBI. Beyond his exceptional scientific expertise, his warmth, collegiality, and wisdom made working alongside him a true privilege. We have lost a pioneering figure in the bioinformatics community and a deeply cherished colleague.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones. He will be dearly missed, and his legacy will always remain an honored part of de.NBI.
