ELIXIR-CONVERGE is a project funded by the European Commission to help standardise life science data management across Europe. To achieve this standardisation, the CONVERGE project will develop a data management toolkit for life scientists. In addition, Europe’s data management capacity will be strengthened through a comprehensive training programme. This goal will be supported by different hackathons to create new training material in field data management.

The hackathon series aims at increasing and facilitating the uptake of data management approaches into training materials, software and experimental data, FAIRness and other topics related to data management.

The hackathon will be a hands-on online event to investigate gaps in the training material of DMP courses and will focus on the development of training materials for DMP courses. This hackathon will run over 3 days (one fixed and two flexible dates) for 3 hours each day. The participants will be grouped into different topics. Each stream will discuss current practices and recommendations for DMP training courses and will develop training material useable as template for further DMP training courses. Additional ELIXIR-DE staff will be at hand for questions.
