This course introduces principles and key methods of constraint-based modeling of metabolic networks coupled with live demonstrations and hands-on exercises with the MATLAB package CellNetAnalyzer (CNA) and its Python-variant CNApy.
• Fundamentals of constraint-based modeling of metabolic networks
• Introduction to CellNetAnalyzer and CNApy
• Metabolic flux (balance) analysis
• Flux Variability analysis
• Metabolic pathway analysis
• Live demos and hands-on exercises with CNA and CNApy: the participants will practice the use of CNA and/or CNApy using small example and realistic metabolic models
• Q&A session
Participants interested in advanced methods of constraint-based modeling and related functionalities in CNA/CNApy may also attend Module 2 of this course (which will take place two weeks later).
Registration:
Learning Goals:
• Basic understanding of (1) stoichiometric and constraint-based modeling of metabolic networks and of (2) related key functionalities of CellNetAnalyzer and CNApy.
• Hands-on exercises with CellNetAnalyzer and CNApy will enable the participants to routinely use these software tools in their daily work.
