Mercator - annotate and classify plant protein and DNA sequences
Mercator allows to annotate and classify plant (and green algae) protein and DNA sequences on a genome scale. Mercator uses an input FASTA file of all proteins/ranscripts of a genome and outputs a human-readable annotation and classification of all proteins/transcripts where this is possible. In addition the the classification can be compared to other genomes based on numbers as barcharts and as an interactive tree allowing to track gene loss/gain (or genome completeness). This is a complete self-service for consulting see also PlantsDB.
