This workshop will provide hands-on training in cutting-edge computational methods for protein design and modeling, integrating both traditional and generative AI-based approaches. Participants will begin by learning the fundamentals of (Py)Rosetta, a versatile molecular modeling toolkit widely used in protein design. The workshop will then delve into sequence design methodologies, providing an understanding of strategies for optimizing proteins for specific functions. The latter half of the workshop will focus on state-of-the-art generative AI techniques, including protein backbone generation using RFdiffusion and AlphaFold2 hallucination, as well as EvoBind. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications, the workshop aims to equip attendees with the skills to carry out their own protein design projects, from backbone generation to sequence optimization and filtering of results.

  • Day 1: Introduction to (Py)Rosetta
  • Day 2: Introduction to protein sequence design
  • Day 3: Generative AI with RFdiffusion or AF2 hallucination
  • Day 4: Generative AI with EvoBind

Learning goals:

  • Introduction to (Py)Rosetta for molecular modeling and design
  • Overview of protein sequence design methods
  • Overview of generative AI methods for protein backbone generation
