The pandemic of COVID-19 caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2 has an enormous negative impact on all affected health systems, economies and societies. Besides global and nationwide research networks also local initiatives are important to accelerate the research efforts towards the development of effective test methods for infection, drugs and vaccines.
In this context, several different researchers working within the Medical Faculty of the Ruhr-University Bochum started a local initiative to collaborate concerning the investigation of the basic immunological mechanisms of COVID-19. Within this initiative, BioInfra.Prot (Martin Eisenacher) will be involved in analysis and management of proteomics data.
